Safeway Sign Company was founded in 1948 by Forrest O. Moore in a small brick building in Inglewood, California. Using his extensive background in transportation, Forrest defined a need for signs to facilitate vehicle traffic and to identify streets. In the mid 1950s, Forrest introduced the first annual sign contract format. By 1962, after outgrowing the Inglewood facility, Forrest's youngest son, David, built a new 8,000 square foot facility in Gardena, California to handle State contracts. Throughout the years, third generation family members joined the company to carry on the family tradition of quality sign manufacturing.

In 1990, with the increase of product lines and contracts, Safeway Sign Company built the current 60,000 square foot facility in Adelanto, California. Family members have now joined with industry trained professionals to further the commitment to innovative sign production, products and service. As the future brings changes to the sign industry, Safeway Signs is prepared, technically and operationally to meet the challenge in growth and services for our present and future customers.
